THE NATIONAL PARK

Briksdal Glacier is an arm of the Jostedal Glacier, the largest glacier on the European continent – protected as a national park.

Jostedalsbreen National Park has a huge diversity of nature, ranging from lush deciduous forests in low-lying areas to glaciers and mountains towering 2,000 metres above the sea. This conservation area is around 60 km in length, and approx. half of the national park is covered in ice.
